Message for both DHL and FedEx doing sales and now marketing. Pretty much every company can get a discount on express and ground shipments. Express can be a low as 16% discount or as high as 50-60% off the normal tariff rates. People like you and I can get the american express discount shipping program for discounts in the teens. Ground can be from a 5% discount up to 30% depending on weight. A small to medium sized company can normally get a 25-29% off express shipping. Okay a regular ovenight 8oz letter sized envelope is normally $17 for zone 2 (without the fuel surchage and residential delivery fee), most companies are paying $10-$11. I know some that pay $5, but we are talking about the Boeings and Raytheons, Bank of Americas, with those flat rates. Every company is making money off shipping to their customers. Without a doubt they have their own FedEx or UPS sales rep and are paying way less than the public rates they charge you. They will still have a GA sales rep that is giving them some kind of discount. If discounts are given to firms with 1-3 employees all the time, that only ship $25-$50 per month than you betcha they are getting something.
